How to spend your first season in Harvest Bay

June 1, 2026 · Henrik Nováček

Harvest Bay can feel aimless at first because it never pushes you, so we built a loose first-season routine that made everything smoother. It's not optimal min-maxing, just a relaxed plan that works.

Start each morning watering crops and feeding animals, then spend the midday exploring one new part of town to meet residents. Afternoons are for selling and buying seeds for the next cycle. Keeping to this rhythm meant we always had money coming in.

Don't over-plant early. A small, well-tended plot beats a huge one you can't water in time. We learned that the slow way after half a field wilted during a busy week.

By the end of the first season you'll have steady income, a few townsfolk warming up to you, and a sense of what you actually enjoy — farming, fishing, or festivals. From there, Harvest Bay is happy to let you do your own thing.
